Uwe Harasko, Product Manager Input Devices at Cherry, stated, "Cherry selected UPEK's TouchChip® sensor because of the requests from our customers who specifically asked for it." UPEK's TouchChip® sensors deliver quick and accurate authentication by incorporating the largest active area sensor, active capacitive sensing, and PerfectPrint optimization. Development work for the M-4200 biometric enabled mouse proved that the UPEK TouchChip TCS2 fingerprint sensor is the most suitable sensor. One of the main reasons for this is the special coating, which protects the sensor against destruction due to over voltage from the approach of the finger. The data comparison was also enhanced and improved. The reworked design brings visual and ergonomic added value. Managing multiple passwords is a headache for both end-users and corporate IT helpdesks. With Cherry's fingerprint keyboards and mice, users simply register their fingerprints and then use their finger when entering a login and password. Afterwards, users just put their finger on the sensor to enter password-protected sites without ever having to remember a password again.
